Thanks to the gentle crushing process of a C+S roller crusher, only a small proportion of the finer fractions is produced. In return, more coarse particles are obtained. This effect is primarily due to the slow roller rotation speed and a crushing tool specifically designed for this application, which is optimized to work in conjunction with the opposing crushing roller.
The mechanical synchronization of the rollers ensures the production of a cubic grain shape. Through synchronization, the tools are positioned relative to one another in every position so that their geometric configuration produces a cubic grain shape. This also ensures efficient feeding of the material.
The hydraulically adjustable crushing gap ensures maximum process control. This allows the required particle sizes to be set efficiently and precisely.
The coarse-crushing capability of the DRC series is particularly important in cement production, where coarse-grained limestone is required for use in shaft kilns or rotary kilns.
What applies to limestone processing also applies in many cases to the processing of gypsum and marble.
RECOMMENDED MACHINE MODELS
The DRC series is particularly well-suited for the efficient crushing of limestone, gypsum, and marble, as the final particle size can be optimally adjusted thanks to the flexible crushing gap adjustment. The DRC 900 or 800 can be used for primary crushing, where feed sizes up to 1,200 mm are reduced to a final particle size of < 300 mm. In the secondary crushing stage, a downstream DRC 700 or 550 is recommended to produce coarse-grained sizes of, for example, < 80 mm or < 120 mm.
The Sizer (SZR) series is also equipped with mechanical synchronization of the roller rotation for efficient crushing. This allows it to be used very effectively in primary and secondary crushing as well, provided that the special features of the DRC series (gap adjustment, overload protection) are not required.
